The Rio Scanning Laser Hair Removal System is designed to remove a larger area of hair at a time (up to 60 hairs) unlike all other home use lasers that only treat 1 to 2 hairs at a time. The Rio Scanning hair removal laser is safe, permanent, and painless.

As with all laser based systems, several treatments are required to completely clear an area of unwanted hair, however, the result is permanent. The Rio Scanning removes up to 60 hairs at a time, power of 28 joules, but also offers the option of removing one hair at a time, or 20 hairs at a time, for smaller areas. Rio Scanning is of British manufacture and offers a 2-year warranty.

What parts of the Body is Rio Scanning unsuitable for?
Most body hair can be removed using the Rio Scanning. The most common areas are the face, underarms, legs, chest, back and bikini line. It is not recommended to use on eyebrows. Do not treat on the following areas: Tattoos, permanent make-up, pimples, warts, hair grown on black spots, skin disease, birth marks, burns, lips, nipples, genital or anal areas, eczema, eyelashes, near the eyes, nasal or ear hair.

Why is a series of treatments required?

Treatment time is 3 to 6 months approximately. Why is that?

Everyone's hair grows differently, depending on age, weight, metabolism, hormones, ethnicity, medications and other factors. But all hair goes through three distinct growth phases:

Active growth phase (called the anagen phase), which lasts between 2 and 7 years. During this phase the dermal papilla actively produces cells which form the hairshaft. In certain areas of the body, such as the scalp, the majority (83%) of the hairs are in this phase. During the anagen phase the hair has an abundance of melanin.

Degradation phase (catagen phase), which lasts between 10 and 20 days, during which the hair stops growing but is not yet shed. About 3-4% of our body hair is in this phase at any given time. The hair follicle shrinks at this time as the hair is prepared for eviction.

Resting phase (telogen phase), which can last for several months, during which the hair falls out and a new hair begins to form. The hair follicle is not treatable during this time.

Hairs start falling after days or weeks of proper treatment (make sure to read instructions carefully). They are either replaced by finer hair or no hair at all. You will probably not notice the difference the first months. After 3rd. month, client will have lost 50-70% hair. It is necessary to follow time-lines carefully and on time.
